Only if I Grant It
A simple word not so simple
It builds me up
It tears me down
An innocent phrase not so innocent
It describes who I am
It describes who I’m not
Is there power here
In these words that bolster and hinder
Is there power here
In these phrases that identify and classify
Only if I grant it
